So I'd guess that you guys have at least googled "family crest tattoo" or something like that. But if you havent, heres a few images ive pulled. Lemme tell you, theres ALOT of bad family coat of arms tattoos. ive pulled some of the better ones here, though not all of them are beautiful. click for a larger view
Just wanted to show the range of whats possible, and what they typically look like. comment with your thoughts!
As of right now, im much more partial to the shield only or simple arms (rows 1 and 2). though i am quite starting to fall for our antlered crest...
ReplyDeletethe first image in row 2 is an example of how bad solid black can look. its all cracked and shit. blugh. i worry about this, the bigger the patch of black, the more likely it is to look shitty.
the green and gold image far right row 2 i think is a nice example of a shaded rendering. the whole thing looks like its shining, especially the gold.
the middle image in row 2 is one of my favs. small, compact, simple, yet it has every element needed to show the full achievement. nice.
though theres some great full examples as well. row 3, 2nd image to the right (blue lion) is a nice crisp rendering. one of my favs for quality.
i also like the rendering on the 1st image of row 4 (black and red horns). again, a nice crisp graphic rendering with a little bit of shading to get it poppin.
would love to hear what you guys all think
It would be nice to see what they would look like in black and white, or with less obnoxious coloring.
ReplyDeleteThe ones you have chosen in rows 1 and 2 are all too simple for me. The crest is something that is intricately beautiful and I want to see all the different components.
I like the last image in row four. Maybe because it's colors are closest to ours, and the crest itself is similar symmetrically to ours. However, I really like the one directly above it as well. I like the shading, design, and color selection.
Overall, none of them are how I would want ours to appear, especially with blocks of black, and color.
yeah i am interested in a non colored in one.. i just dont think i could last through the pain to be honest, i just got nauseous thinking about it being colored in ahha sad...even though i have one colored in but still...
