stumbled on this link which gives a great visual description of the process this one dude went to design and display his arms. it also shows a BUNCH of variations on the arms which visually explains how versatile and free heraldry lets each armiger (that is, one who bears arms) be when choosing how to depict the arms.

also in his post, he references this place. if we wanted to go SUPER legit, we could even register the arms! but for now id be happy just getting a sweet design finalized.
ALSO, definitely visit the american heraldry society. theres some GREAT examples under the "members arms" section.
ok now i get it.. not that i didnt from conversation but i just get it visually even better... im gunna be looking up some owl stuff and maybe look into something else that might be cool on the knight
